Meeting every Tuesday, except for Christmas week and summertime, at the Asia Restaurant on the Moraira Road at La Fustera at 13:00 for 13:30. Visiting Rotarians present and past and their partners, 41 club and Round Table always welcome for a meal and various speakers. Calpe Market Day

Calpe market takes place every Saturday morning from 8.00am in Calle del Norte (parallel to the dual carriageway into town). The top has flowers, fresh fruit and vegetables, lower down, pickles, dried meats, honey and spices, then Paella pans, baskets, shoes and clothing. Shoes from €3 and dresses from €2.99 !! Man statue, handlebar mustache man.

Me & Me Two Brodders

Patrick walks into a bar in Dublin

Orders three pints of Guinness & sits in the corner of the room,

Drinking a sip out of each pint in turn.

When he had finished all three, He went back to the bar & ordered three more.

The barman says, "You know a pint goes flat soon after I pull it ..........

Your pint would taste better if you bought one at a time."

Patrick replies, "Well now, I have two brodders, one is in America & de odder in Australia & here I am in Dublin .

When we all left home, we promised dat we'd drink dis way to remember

de days we all drank togedder."

The barman admits that this is a nice custom & says no more.

Patrick becomes a regular customer, & always drinks the same way ....... Ordering three pints & drinking a sip out of each in turn, until they are finished.

One day, he comes in & orders just two pints.

All the other regulars in the bar notice! & fall silent.

When he goes back to the bar for the second round,

The barman says, "I don't want to intrude on your grief but I wanted to

offer my condolences on your great loss."

Patrick looks confused for a moment, then the penny drops & he starts

to laugh,

"Oh no," he says, "Bejesus, everyone is fine !

Tis me, ..............................

BOGUS CALLERS WARNING FROM COSTA BLANCA TOWN HALLS

It would appear that once again a team of Con Men are trying to access homes via dubios means reports have come in from a couple of towns a little further south and it looks that they are slowly proceeding northwards in the direction of Calpe. Below is the Santa Pola Warning
The Department of Social Services in Santa Pola has issued a warning that they have detected the presence of people posing as employees of the municipal department, who are attempting to access the homes of older people, under the guise of conducting a survey, but are attempting to rob their homes once inside.

The alert has been raised after a number of vigilant potential victims contacted the town hall to confirm the identity of those who were at their door. The authorities are urging anybody in doubt to check the credibility of visitors to their homes, but never allow them access, unless you are certain that they are genuine callers.

If in doubt, call the authorities on a number that you have, or from the telephone book, never a number given to you by the caller, which could be an accomplice at the end of the phone, and if you feel threatened or in more doubt, call the police immediately.

Young Man Goes To The Pharmacist

A young man goes into a drug store to buy condoms. The pharmacist says the condoms come in packs of 3, 9 or 12 and asks which the young man wants. "Well", he said, "I've been seeing this girl for a while and she's really hot. I want the condoms because I think tonight's THE night. We're having dinner with her parents, and then we're going out. Once she's had me, she'll want me all the time, so you'd better give me the 12 pack". The young man makes his purchase and leaves.

Later that evening, he sits down to dinner with his girlfriend and her parents. He asks if he might give the blessing, and they agree. He begins the prayer, but continues praying for several minutes. The girl leans over and says, "You never told me that you were such a religious person". He leans over to her and says, "You never told me that your father is a pharmacist".
