MISSING Frederick "Freddy" Frankland
Frederick Michael Frankland, British resident of La Nucia, Spain, 75 years old suffering from Alzheimer, has been missing since the morning of Tuesday, 18 December 2012.
Local police, Civil Guard and Civil protection of La Nucía, Spain are working on their search in the vicinity of his home. Urgent search plan for missing person with risk issued in the region of Marina Baixa. Attention being paid to the network of trails of Captivador La Nucia. Last seen wearing long blue trousers and a brown sweater.
The Municipality of La Nucia has kindly requested the maximum citizen collaboration and reporting of any information to the Local Police on Tel 96 587 0533

BA Start a new route to Alicante
British Airways are starting a new route next year, from Gatwick to Alicante, cost wise it looks OK. maybe of use to forum members, see link below

When I was in the bar last night I was told that BA is starting to fly from Gatwick, but have just had a go for a Feb date and it will only show me Heathrow.

thanks for the info,sounds a good deal,just wonder if there are any catches,like insurance and excess,,
I have been hireing for a few years now since I took my car back to the UK, I found Gold Car to be the cheapest,see a lot of their stickers on the hire cars on and around the 332. I made the mistake of paying for the excess online in the UK,,,,when arriving at Alicante I was offered the excess at half of the UK price,so would always pay the excess at the airport,, also CDW Collision Damage Waver,varies so much,,and I always ask if the insurance they offer covers me for personal injury as I dont think many do,,just damage to the car,,might be worth asking them before hireing,, all the best,,happy christmas.
unfortunately,you will see Gold Car stickers on hire cars,only a couple of companies put stickers on cars now,as it is an invitation to thieves,it tells them you have just left the airport so all your luggage etc. is on board.Best advise is to take the sticker off before leaving the airport
Goonerpeter - I cannot really answer your questions as we personally have never used the company. They seem to be very good, but it is not until you get to the end of all these companies that you find these things out. All I can say is that the prices to actually hire a car are extremely cheap.

One of our rental properties that has been empty for a while has had the gate seize up. Have sprayed it with WD40.Which means now it is free and can be used without the electrical side working. Can this type of unit be repaired?

Finally managed to get some info on the automatic gate system. The make seems to be DEA - At the side of it the writing says Italy. Then underneath the Maker's Name it says ART 400. It is 230 volts. Under that is says Watt 320. Under that it says Spinta Max N 300. Under that it says N MATRICOLA HO5660. Last box says MESE 12 ANNO 1999
Hope you can understand all that. When I opened up and looked inside, it looks a bit of a state. From the above info can you give me any clues as to what the price would be either for a re-con or a new one to take it's place please
Is it Me? Am I doing something wrong? I can't find flights from Alicante to Gatwick - only to Heathrow.
Is anyone else having this problem?
